North Carolina Coastal Recreational Fishing License
Effective Jan. 1, 2007
North Carolina’s Coastal Recreational Fishing License (CRFL), administered by the Division of Marine Fisheries (DMF), is effective Jan. 1, 2007. This license can be purchased on a 10-day, annual or lifetime basis, or combined with a variety of licenses issued by the Wildlife Resources Commission (WRC).
Since the new Coastal Recreational Fishing License will not become available for purchase until the date it is effective, marine patrol officers will be giving fishermen who are fishing in coastal waters a certain amount of latitude immediately after the law takes effect. Fishermen are urged to make every effort to obtain the required license immediately after it goes on sale on January 1, 2007. In Joint Waters, Marine Patrol officers will coordinate their enforcement efforts with Wildlife Officers to ensure fair and consistent CRFL enforcement.
The new license will be available from WRC license agents throughout the state and at any DMF office. The number of license agents will be increased in coastal areas.
