Gale Force Winds Possible This Weekend

Today's weather will start off a very pleasant spring day. But by this eveing/tonight severe weather will move into the area with wind gusts possible up to 40mph. Here is a weather statement by the National Weather Service:

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 67. North wind 7 to 17 mph becoming southeast.

Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms between midnight and 4am, then periods of showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 4am. Some of the storms could be severe, with damaging winds. Low around 65. Windy, with a south wind 18 to 21 mph increasing to between 34 and 37 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Sunday: Periods of showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 3pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Some of the storms could be severe, with damaging winds. High near 70. Very windy, with a south wind 37 to 40 mph becoming west 29 to 32 mph. Winds could gust as high as 55 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between one and two inches possible.

Sunday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8pm, then a chance of showers between 8pm and 2am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 49. Breezy, with a west wind between 25 and 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Monday: Partly cloudy, with a high near 61. Breezy, with a west wind between 25 and 30 mph.
