| Neuse River Trout Report |

NEUSE RIVER - Last Monday Nov 23...forcast was for rain but it was my only day to fish before trip to Cincinnati....so I went anyway...Glad I did. My trolling motor had broken so I decided to go to a popular spot on the Neuse river and anchor up. Pulled up and no one there. Calm, overcast, no wind. Nice day. Fishing about 150 feet off bank in about 8' of water. Caught 12 Trout. Most about 17" to 19". Using #17 808 mirrolure with 4 weight dots added. had to wait for the lure to sink at about 15 count to get bait down. fished it SLOW. so slow that I did not reel; just pulled my rod very slow. quit at 11:45 with limit. Weather man said rain in morning and clearing in afternoon........It started raining that afternoon while I was cleaning fish. |
