Monday, December 17th-

At the NC/VA state line

Off Pea Island-

Off Hatteras-

Off Bogue Banks-

West of Frying Pan Shoals-

...and to keep up with the Debra Lee (the Mobile, Alabama based trawler that we've been tracking above), she's enjoying the waters of Florida-

Today (Thursday, December 20th), the large trawlers have all headed to the dock.  Those vessels in the Pamlico are running, not trawling.

We're still shrimping in the near-shore ocean waters off Ocracoke Inlet-

What's the deal with shrimp trawlers (compulsory equipped vessel) running a voluntary equipped license?

What I'm a missing?

I've noticed this with a LOT of the commercial trawlers that I have researched.

Today-  May 2nd, the big Cooke Seafood boat (Bridgot Denise) is in the Strategic Habitat Area (non-delineated in the last CHPP) area of the Dead Tree Hole.  This is where spot, croaker, sea mullet and weakfish are staging for their inshore migration.
